Under indirect supervision, performs a variety of clerical and customer service tasks with focus on patient and client affiliations. Will become familiar with all basic procedures involving greeting a patient, registration, order entry, computer inquiry, physician orders, standing orders, central scheduling orders, scanning, financial edits and phone reception. Accepts payments for services and provides specimen collection instruction. Duties include high volume interaction with patients on a customer service basis. Maintains cooperative working relationship with other personnel and departments with focus on quality patient and client service.
Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent is required. General office skills required. Some customer service background and strong data entry skills required. Typing (40 WPM). Must be flexible. Experience working in a healthcare facility and/or with ICD-9 and medical terminology helpful. Medical Assistant certification or education in related medical field helpful.
